Description: Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has a touchdown catch in two straight games.
Insight: Olsen had just one catch a week ago but it was a 47-yard scoring strike. He went for 55 yards and a touchdown on four catches Sunday against the Falcons. Olsen already has a career-high 691 receiving yards with three games remaining.

Description: Carolina tight end Greg Olsen had his first 100-yard game Sunday against the Broncos.
Insight: Olsen also caught two touchdowns, his first multi-touchdown game this season. The effort reversed a four-game decline for the tight end.

Description: Carolina tight end Greg Olsen led his team in receiving yards for the second week in a row Sunday in a loss to Atlanta.
Insight: Olsen blew up 89 yards and a touchdown Sunday only a week after making seven grabs for 98 yards against the Giants. The former Chicago Bear had just seven receptions for 69 yards in his first two games of the 2012 season.

Description: Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has been Cam Newton's favorite target this season, even above wideout Steve Smith.
Insight: With Jeremy Shockey gone and Mike Tolbert available to block, it appears that Olsen will be allowed to release more often. He was targeted 14 times against the Giants in Week 3 and a team-leading 24 times this season. Now he just needs to find his way into the end zone.

Description: Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Greg Olsen can be as productive as Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham this season, according to the Associated Press.
Insight: With Jeremy Shockey gone and Mike Tolbert in the fold, Rivera envisions Olsen doing less blocking and more catching. Olsen and Shockey combined for 82 catches, 995 yards and nine touchdowns last season so Olsen could make for a nice sleeper in fantasy drafts this year.

Description: Panthers TE Greg Olsen missed practice today with a turf toe injury and is questionable for this weekend vs. Washington. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Turf toe can linger and cause players to miss more than just one week of action. The extent of Olsen's is unknown. Through six games, Olsen is the No. 8 fantasy tight end with 25 catches for 282 yards and three touchdowns. Jeremy Shockey might be a solid fantasy starter in Week 7 if Olsen can't go.

Description: Bears OC Mike Martz recently indicated that he's satisfied with TE Greg Olsen's offensive role. SOURCE: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
Insight: He might be, but fantasy owners aren't. His 41 receptions and 404 receiving yards were the lowest of his career since his rookie season. That won't change much as long as he remains in Chicago and Martz continues to call the plays. Olsen is talented enough to be a TE1, but will be stuck as a low TE2 in 2011.

Description: The Bears thought they had a deal in place that would have sent TE Greg Olsen to the Patriots for a second-round pick before last year's draft. SOURCE: CHICAGO TRIBUNE
Insight: The Patriots ended up getting better at tight end anyway after drafting highly talented Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski. Olsen, however, averaged just a little over 25 yards a game, which was predicted in Mike Martz's offense. If there is a new CBA, hopefully the Bears will try and unload Olsen to a team that will use him in the passing game.

Description: Olsen had four receptions for 40 yards against the Dolphins on Thursday night.
Insight: Olsen has 10 catches over the last three games, but is still nothing more than a TE2 at this point. (RapidDraft.com)

11/15/2010 11:01:00 AM
Description: Olsen had three receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown against the Vikings on Sunday.
Insight: Olsen has now scored in back-to-back games, and seems to be re-emerging as an option in the Bears' offense. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Olsen had three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown against the Bills on Sunday.
Insight: Olsen has not been good for fantasy owners lately, and he will need to build on this performance to be worth starting consideration in any fantasy format. (RapidDraft.com)

11/4/2010 11:02:00 PM
Description: ESPN Chicago.com reports Olsen ranks 26th in the NFL among tight ends with 18 catches.
Insight: Olsen got off to a decent start to the season, but has slowly become less and less involved in the Bears' passing game. He is probably waiver wire fodder in most fantasy leagues. (RapidDraft.com)

10/20/2010 10:03:00 AM
Description: Olsen has been held without a catch over the past two games.
Insight: Olsen seemed to be involved in the Bears' passing game early in the season, but now he seems to be an afterthought. He can probably be dropped in most fantasy leagues. (RapidDraft.com)

10/4/2010 12:04:00 PM
Description: Olsen had a team-leading five catches for 39 yards against the Giants on Sunday.
Insight: The Bears' offense failed to get anything going, but Olsen appears to be a factor in their passing game and could make for a solid fantasy option even with Jay Cutler (concussion) injured. (RapidDraft.com)

9/28/2010 2:14:00 AM
Description: Bears TE Greg Olsen caught five passes for 64 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 20-17 win over the Packers.
Insight: For the season, Olsen has 10 catches and two scores through three games for Chicago. That's important because most TEs in Mike Martz's offense do not flourish. Olsen is obviously overcoming this with raw talent and he can now be considered as a low-tier TE1 in most leagues.

Description: Olsen had five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown against Green Bay on Monday night.
Insight: Olsen could be a nice red zone option for the Bears all season long. (RapidDraft.com)

9/6/2010 10:01:00 AM
Description: The Chicago Tribune reports Bears' GM Jerry Angelo strongly denied trade rumors surrounding Olsen.
Insight: Angelo did acknowledge that teams have inquired about Olsen, but it looks like he's staying put. His fantasy value is not great, as Mike Martz rarely uses tight ends in his pass-happy scheme. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: "There is still talk" that the Bears have TE Greg Olsen available for a trade. SOURCE: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
Insight: If they haven't been able to trade Olsen by now, we doubt he is moved with a little over a week left before the start of the season. Olsen's average draft position currently lists him as one of the last of the starting fantasy tight ends in fourteen team leagues, but even that's a bit too high for us.

9/1/2010 2:00:00 PM
Description: The Chicago Sun Times reports "there is still talk" that Olsen is still available for trade.
Insight: Olsen's role in Mike Martz's pass-happy offense is up in the air, but Martz's offenses have traditionally ignored the tight end. (RapidDraft.com)
