Description: Patriots wideout Julian Edelman saw a team-high eight targets against the Colts, but didn't do much with them.
Insight: He caught five for 50 yards. Part of his poor numbers might have been the Pats use of multiple tight ends as they ran the ball down the Colts throats. He also took a big first quarter hit that may have slowed him down.
11/3/2014 9:30:00 AM
Description: Patriots wideout Julian Edelman carried the offense in the first half catching one touchdown and returning a punt for a touchdown as the Pats built a 27-7 lead.
Insight: He had a second touchdown reception called back. Edelman finished the day with nine receptions for 89 yards and a score.
10/17/2014 9:53:00 AM
Description: Patriots wideout Julian Edelman was given a solid nine targets, but caught just four for 44 yards.
Insight: He continues to be one of Tom Brady's go-to guys, but he's been extremely inconsistent this season with three games under 45 yards and four games over 80 yards.
10/12/2014 6:22:00 PM
Description: Julian Edelman had nine catches for 91 yards on Sunday.
Insight: He continues to be on of Tom Brady's go-to guys. Edelman will be a solid WR2, as we move forward.
9/16/2014 4:10:00 PM
Description: Julian Edelman continues to be the Patriots' number one wide receiver.
Insight: Brady clearly trusts him, as he had another nice outing during Week 2 (6 catches for 81 yards and 1 touchdown). With Danny Amendola nowhere to be found, Edelman is in line for another monster year. Consider him a WR2, with even more upside in PPR leagues.

Insight: Edelman (105 receptions, 1,056 yards, 6 TD in 2013) announced on Twitter this past weekend that he was staying with New England, though details of the contract weren't released until today. He'll be under Patriots control until his age-32 season.

Insight: Edelman posted career-best numbers last season (105 receptions, 1,056 yards, 6 TD in 2013) but couldn't find an offer to his liking on the open market. From a fantasy perspective, New England was always the best place for him.

Description: The Patriots could not reach a deal with Julian Edelman prior to free agency. SOURCE: Aaron Wilson, Baltimore Sun
Insight: The Pats offered him a three-year deal but instead he'll test the open market. Edelman (105 receptions, 1,056 yards, 6 TD in 2013) is also being pursued by the Ravens.

Description: The Patriots have every intention of re-signing Julian Edelman when free agency begins later this week. SOURCE: Mike Giardi, Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: Edelman was the Pats best receiver last season and could be again next season depending on the health of Rob Gronkowski. It would be surprising if Edelman left, though the Pats did low-ball Wes Welker in free agency last offseason. New England would also like to keep Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib. It will be interesting to see if the Pats can afford both of them.
2/2/2014 10:54:00 AM
Description: ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss expects the Texans to make a run at impending free agent wide receiver Julian Edelman.
Insight: Edelman raised his free agent stock by having a career year in 2013 (105 receptions, 1,056 yards, six TDs). The notoriously stingy Patriots aren't likely to keep up with Edelman's increasing contract demands so Houston might be the best fit for him. Edelman's presence would be good news for the likely No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M.

Description: Patriots QB Tom Brady targeted Julian Edelman 19 times and completed 13 for 139 yards and a touchdown Sunday at Miami.
Insight: After disappearing in the middle of the year, Edelman re-emerged as one of Tom Brady's preferred targets several weeks ago and his value was only boosted by Rob Gronkowski's injury last week. He's put up 37 catches, 414 yards and four scores on 51 targets over the last four games and has set career highs with 89 receptions, 914 yards and six touchdowns this season.
9/8/2013 6:24:00 PM
Description: Patriots receiver Julian Edelman was one of Tom Brady's favorite targets Sunday against Buffalo.
Insight: Edelman came down with seven catches for 79 yards including a career-high two touchdown grabs. Until Rob Gronkowski returns from his back injury, Edelman will continue to be New England's go-to receiver in the red zone.
8/21/2013 9:59:00 AM
Description: New England wideout Julian Edelman got all the slot reps at practice with starter Danny Amendola sidelined.
Insight: Edelman has shown the ability to play the Wes Welker-role and fantasy owners who select the injury-prone Amendola would be wise to add Edelman late in the draft for insurance.
5/25/2013 2:53:00 PM
Description: New England wideout Julian Edelman is not a sure thing to make this year's 53-man roster, according to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Although Edelman has shown the ability to play the Wes Welker-role, the team will have a glut of wide receivers in camp, including Danny Amendola, Donald Jones, Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce, Lavelle Hawkins among 11 choices.
4/10/2013 12:18:00 PM
Description: The Patriots will re-sign receiver Julian Edelman today, according to USA Today's Mike Garafolo.
Insight: Edelman has shown the ability to replicate Wes Welker-type receiving numbers on a short-term basis, but has never done it for a full season. He'll likely back up injury-prone Danny Amendola and have fantasy value only as a handcuff.
12/4/2012 5:13:00 PM
Description: The Patriots have placed receiver Julian Edelman on injured reserve with a broken foot. SOURCE: CBS Boston
Insight: Edelman injured his foot in Sunday's win at Miami. The fourth-year receiver from Kent State had been cutting into Brandon Lloyd's playing time, so the injury could force New England to go back to Lloyd.
12/3/2012 2:28:00 PM
Description: Patriots receiver and special teams whiz Julian Edelman is questionable for the Dec 10 game against Houston.
Insight: Edelman was in a walking boot and on crutches after injuring his foot in the Pats win over Miami. He had played well in the previous two weeks against Indianapolis and the Jets, scoring at least once in each game.
12/2/2012 11:58:00 AM
Description: Patriots receiver and special teams whiz Julian Edelman is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Insight: Edelman's status had been in question after suffering a concussion last week against the Jets. He's scored four touchdowns in his last two games and should have another solid game Sunday against Miami's 26th-ranked passing defense.
11/19/2012 10:04:00 AM
Description: Sunday we had a Julian Edelman sighting. New England's do-it-all wide receiver/punt returner/cornerback found the end zone twice in a 59-24 blowout victory over the Colts.
Insight: Edelman tallied a season-high 58 receiving yards with another 47 on the ground (all on one run). He also took a punt return back to the house for a 68-yard score in the second quarter and nearly took another one back in the fourth. You can expect Edelman to play a much bigger role in the New England offense now that stud tight end Rob Gronkowski is out with a broken arm.
10/14/2012 9:42:00 AM
Description: Patriots receiver Julian Edelman (hand) has been ruled out for Week 6 against Seattle.
Insight: Edelman had earned some of Wes Welker's playing time early on, but Welker has been excellent over the past three weeks with 30 receptions for 375 yards and a score.
