Insight: Now it remains a mystery on who told Schobel he was going to be released. Insight: Schobel is due roughly $6 million this year. And since they have already made future plans that don't involve him, a release appears inevitable. Description: Bills OLB Aaron Schobel told the Associated Press that he intends to decide whether to play football in 2010 by "the middle of August."
Insight: Boy, what a shocker: Someone else who figured out he can make more money playing football than by retiring prematurely. Expect Schobel to be back with the Bills, but for it not to matter all that much from an IDP standpoint. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Bills OLB Aaron Schobel suggested he's changed his mind about retiring, indicating that he's "leaning more towards playing" than he was a month ago. SOURCE: WKBW Buffalo
Insight: If he does in fact come back for the 2010 season, it will be very interesting to see how he adjusts to the movement to 3-4 OLB. In IDP leagues, if he's designated as an LB only, his value will tumble. If he is still designated as a DE, he's worth drafting as he should up comparable DE type numbers like he's done in seasons past.

Description: Bills coach Chan Gailey reiterated that the team is hopeful Aaron Schobel will continue to play football in 2010.

6/17/2010 4:29:00 PM
Description: Coach Chan Gailey said he would welcome Aaron Schobel back if the veteran pass rusher decides he wants to play later this summer
Insight: Gailey might welcome him back, but Schobel probably doesn't have a lot left in the tank, so he's not a good bet to do very well in IDP leagues even if he comes back. (sportsBuff.com)

6/10/2010 7:55:00 PM
Description: Buffalobills.com's Chris Brown believes OLB Aaron Schobel is still entertaining the idea of playing in 2010.
Insight: Schobel is doing his best Brett Favre imitation right now. Even if he does return, he won;t have anywhere near as much IDP value as he has in the past. (SportsBuff.com)

6/2/2010 8:36:00 PM
Description: Aaron Schobel still hasn't shown up for Bills offseason workouts.
Insight: The oft-injured Schobel is weighing his options at the moment. Even if he does decide to play this season, he's not likely to have a big IDP effect anyway. (Sportsbuff.com)

3/30/2010 7:24:00 PM
Description: Coach Chan Gailey said he has not set a time for Schobel to make a decision about playing for the Bills.
Insight: He wields a bit of negotiating power seeing as how he is coming off a 10 sack season. However, the Bills are switching to a 3-4 scheme, so it would be in his best interest to begin learning that right away. (sportsBuff.com)
