Green Bay Packers (NFL)
Oakland Raiders (AFL)
The Packers' passing game powered Green Bay to victory in the first Super Bowl.
Who would have thought this would be the final farewell for head coach Vince Lombardi, kicker and Super Bowl hero Don Chandler, Max McGee, the hero of Super Bowl I and the great Green Bay Packer dominance.
Bart Starr won his second straight MVP award, completing 13-of-24 passes for 202 yards and onetouchdown. Chandler kicked four field goals and cornerback Herb Adderley ran back an interception 60 yards to cap the rout.
It was the Packers' third straight NFL championship. During Lombardi's reign, the Packers won six Western Conference championships, five NFL championships and two Super Bowls.
