Report: Broncos CB Harris has torn ACL
Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Denver's Peyton Manning-led offense gets all the attention, but the Broncos have reportedly suffered a big blow on defense.
Starting cornerback Chris Harris suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's win over the Chargers, according to the Denver Post.
Harris was hurt in the third quarter and was replaced by Quentin Jammer. The paper said an MRI exam on Monday confirmed that Harris tore his ACL.
That means the Broncos must play without one of their most valuable defensive players against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
The 24-year-old Harris had 65 tackles, 13 passes defensed and three interceptions during the regular season. With Champ Bailey out for much of the season, Harris became an important part of Denver's secondary.
