Redskins swap running backs
Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins released running back Ryan Grant and signed running back Keiland Williams.
Grant appeared in only one game for the Redskins after signing with the club last month, rushing once for five yards.
Prior to joining the Redskins, Grant totaled 4,016 yards and 25 touchdowns in 63 career games with the Green Bay Packers.
Williams rejoins the club that signed him as a college free agent in 2010. The LSU product started three games and rushed for 261 yards with three touchdowns during his rookie season with the Redskins. He spent the next year and played five games this season with the Detroit Lions before being released last week.
