11/9/2012 7:14:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Kwame Brown's strained left calf will keep him out of the lineup Friday against the Celtics.
Insight: Brown has only appeared in one game for the Sixers this season, scoring four points in 11 minutes Monday against the Knicks. There's no reason to keep an eye on him in fantasy.

Description: Center Kwame Brown and the Philadelphia 76ers have come to terms on a two year $6 million contract.
Insight: This will be the seventh team Brown has played for in 12 NBA seasons. He averaged 6.3 ppg and 6.4 rpg while injuries limited him to just nine appearances for the Warriors last season. Brown, the No. 1 overall pick in 2001's NBA Draft, has never lived up to expectations and will probably go undrafted in most fantasy leagues next season.

Description: Gerald Henderson (21 points, two threes, a block, and a steal) and Kwame Brown ( 19 points, seven boards, and a block) both continue to be productive in the last week of the season.
Insight: Brown did have issues at the line by making just 1-of-6 at the line, so that hurts. They both should still be considered as strong starts in standard formats.
4/8/2011 10:32:00 PM
Description: Kwame Brown had a field day in South Beach with a huge game of 23 points, 12 boards, two steals, and a block in 41 minutes.
Insight: This season has put him out of the vicinity for being as terrible of a pick as Michael Olowokandi. Brown had a nice season and should be started in deep leagues for now. He probably is not worth drafting in standard leagues for next season though.
3/26/2011 9:34:00 PM
Description: Kwame Brown got significant minutes once again and looked good with 11 points, seven boards, and two blocks in 34 minutes to help the Bobcats beat the Knicks.
Insight: Brown is having a nice weekend and the Bobcats do play four games for the remaining two weeks. Brown is a decent add for owners seeking a big man at this time. That could change should Tyrus Thomas' ribs heal in the next couple days.
1/27/2011 12:53:00 AM
Description: Gerald Henderson got more run than usual with 33 minutes on Wednesday. In those 33 he contributed 15 points, four boards, and two blocks. Kwame Brown now has a double-double streak with his 12 points and 10 boards in 26 minutes.
Insight: Brown is certainly attractive as a center and should be owned in deep leagues. He is not a great shot blocker, which means his upside is not that high. As for Henderson, this came against the Suns and he probably won't be clearing the 30-minute plateau for a while. He makes for a nice stash (as discussed on Wednesday's Pick-N-Roll) and should gain some value once the trade deadline approaches.
1/26/2011 12:21:00 AM
Description: Kwame Brown played like the top pick in the draft with 13 points, 18 boards, and a block to help the Bobcats beat the Kings.
Insight: It looks like it's safe to say he is better than Michael Olowokandi. Kwame brought his lunch pail and went to work in the paint and has a decent chance of sustaining value with Tyrus Thomas out for two months. He is worthy of an add for owners needing a center that missed out on Kendrick Perkins.
1/19/2011 12:12:00 AM
Description: Kwame Brown's run at relevance took a hit on Tuesday as he played just 15 minutes and chipped in with six points, four rebounds, and a block in the win at Chicago.
Insight: Yes, he should probably be cut in most leagues. On the other hand, daily league owners might want to keep him since the Bobbies play on Thursday.
1/17/2011 6:08:00 PM
Description: Kwame Brown got a ridiculous 42 minutes and had a big double-double with 16 points, 15 boards, a steal, and a block in the road win in the 215 (that's Philly for the area code impaired).
Insight: Tyrus Thomas was suspended for the elbow he gave, which explains the 42 minutes. However, this could be a wake up call that Kwame could be ready to be the center the Bobcats have been searching for all season. The Bobbies play tomorrow and daily league owners might want to give him a shot. As for you weekly league owners, centers can be tough to come by and it you should at least weigh Kwame as an option.
1/15/2011 10:03:00 PM
Description: Kwame Brown scored 12 points and rebounded 14 in 30 minutes for the Bobcats in a losing effort.
Insight: He did miss three of his five attempts from the line though. He's not going to be a fun player to own with how inconsistent he is these days. On the other hand, he is center eligible and doesn't have much competition.
12/11/2010 12:05:00 PM
Description: Brown had a season-high 12 rebounds off the Bobcat bench in a loss to the Pacers. He also had four points.
Insight: The former top pick in the draft has been used by Larry Brown as some inside muscle. He has played in 11 games and averaged 3.7 points and 3.8 rebounds. (
11/5/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: Brown is close to returning from a sprained ankle, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Insight: Brown will serve as six more fouls for coach Larry Brown to use in the low post. He is not a serviceable fantasy player. (
9/25/2010 3:01:00 PM
Description: Brown will miss a minimum of 4-6 weeks due to a third degree left ankle sprain.
Insight: Brown injured the ankle during workouts on Thursday-he had surgery on the ankle in 2007 but the MRI showed no further damage to it. His status for the start of the season seems to be in doubt right now as he will be wearing a protctive boot for the next two weeks before beginning rehab. (
8/23/2010 6:12:00 PM
Description: The Charlotte Bobcats are expected to sign former number one pick Kwame Brown to a one-year deal. SOURCE:
Insight: Michael Jordan is well known for selecting Kwame back in 2001 with Washington and it looks like M.J. is prepared to gamble on Brown again. He has no fantasy value and isn't likely to play more than 15 MPG behind Erick Dampier and Nazr Mohammed.
