Description: Ricky Nolasco had his best start as a Twin Saturday against Kansas City.
Insight: Nolasco (1-1) limited the Royals to just one run in eight innings of work. Even with Saturday's outing, Nolasco's ERA still sits at a disappointing 5.50. He'll have a chance to lower that Friday against these same Royals.

Description: Righthander Ricky Nolasco has agreed to a four-year, $49 million deal with Minnesota. SOURCE: Jeff Passan, Yahoo Sports
Insight: Nolasco isn't an ace but with such little talent in this year's free agent pool, he still got a big pay day. He'll get his 200 innings in Minnesota and has posted double-digit wins in six consecutive seasons.

Description: The market really seems to be opening up for Ricky Nolasco.
Insight: The former Marlins and Dodgers starter is being pursued by several teams including the Giants, Padres, Phillies and Twins. Nolasco isn't an ace but with such little talent in this year's free agent pool, he should get a big pay day. Fox's Ken Rosenthal reported a week ago that Nolasco has his sights set on a deal similar to the one Anibal Sanchez signed with Detroit last offseason (five years, $80 million).
10/16/2013 9:51:00 AM
Description: Ricky Nolasco's first career postseason start lasted all of 58 pitches.
Insight: It was a quick hook for the Dodgers righthander, who allowed three runs on three hits in just four innings of work. Don Mattingly was on the fence about handing Nolasco the ball for Game 4 and in hindsight, he probably should have gone with Zack Greinke. If the Dodgers lose again tonight in Game 5, their season will be over.
10/15/2013 5:20:00 PM
Description: The Dodgers will start Ricky Nolasco in Game 4 of the NLCS against the Cardinals.
Insight: Nolasco was the scheduled starter but the team also could have opted to use Zack Greinke on short rest.
Hot9/1/2013 9:24:00 AM
Description: Los Angeles starter Ricky Nolasco went 5-0 in August.
Insight: Nolasco had a 1.64 ERA for the month and is 6-1 with a 2.20 ERA in 10 starts since joining the Dodgers. His 3.26 ERA on the year is a career low.
Hot8/28/2013 10:33:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles starter Ricky Nolasco was outstanding Wednesday in a win against the Cubs.
Insight: Nolasco (8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 11 K's) hasn't given up a run in either of his last two outings. Overall, he's 6-1 with a 2.20 ERA in ten starts since joining the Dodgers at the start of July.
8/18/2013 6:22:00 PM
Description: Dodgers starter Ricky Nolasco is 4-1 with a 2.98 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in eight starts since joining the team.
Insight: Nolasco gave up two runs over six innings Sunday against the Phillies but took a no decision to snap a three-game winning streak.
7/19/2013 10:19:00 PM
Description: Through three starts as a Dodger, Ricky Nolasco is 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP.
Insight: Nolasco has given up 20 hits and walked five in 17 1/3 innings with Los Angeles, but 15 of the hits were singles. He's 6-9 with a 3.75 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP on the year.

Description: Ricky Nolasco will make his debut with the Dodgers Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, according to Ken Gurnick of
Insight: Los Angeles acquired Nolasco (5-8, 3.85 ERA) from Miami Saturday. The right-hander should see better run support with the Dodgers than with the lowly Marlins.
7/6/2013 9:54:00 PM
Description: Fox's Ken Rosenthal reports that the Marlins have traded starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco to the Dodgers for minor league pitchers Steven Ames, Josh Wall and Angel Sanchez.
Insight: Nolasco (5-8, 3.85 ERA) should get better run support in Los Angeles, which could lead to more victories. He's 0-1 with an 8.18 ERA in two career starts at Dodger Stadium.
7/3/2013 10:06:00 PM
Description: In what could be his final start as a Marlin, Ricky Nolasco fired seven innings, allowed six hits and two runs, walked none and struck out seven to beat the Atlanta Braves.
Insight: The Marlins are talking to at least five teams about a trade for Nolasco. The Braves have been a longtime nemesis for Nolasco -- he had a 5-10 record and a 5.26 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 125 innings against them prior to Wednesday -- so this would be a good way to wrap up his Marlins career.
7/3/2013 4:29:00 PM
Description: According to Ken Rosenthal of, "all signs point to" Ricky Nolasco starting for Miami Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves.
Insight: The Marlins are talking to at least five teams about a trade for Nolasco, but it likely won't happen Wednesday. Nolasco is 5-10 with a 5.26 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP in 23 appearances (22 starts) against the Braves, so you might want to leave him on the bench tonight anyway.
6/26/2013 6:12:00 PM
Description: The Marlins and Rockies have been talking about a trade involving Ricky Nolasco, but there has been a breakdown in conversations over who would pick up the rest of his $11.5 million salary, according to Buster Olney.
Insight: Four of the five NL West teams (Arizona excluded) are interested in Nolasco, and landing in San Francisco, San Diego or Los Angeles would be much better for his fantasy value than Colorado.
6/16/2013 7:51:00 PM
Description: Marlins righthander Ricky Nolasco was sensational Sunday in a victory over St. Louis.
Insight: Miami GM Michael Hill's phone must be ringing off the hook with trade offers following Nolasco's dominant performance on Sunday. In seven innings, the stud righthander allowed just three hits and one earned run. He walked one and struck out four. Nolasco (4-7, 3.61 ERA) will get the ball again Friday versus the Giants.
6/6/2013 11:51:00 AM
Description: The Marlins could be looking to trade starter Ricky Nolasco. SOURCE: Joe Frisaro,
Insight: Aside from Giancarlo Stanton, Nolasco (3-6, 3.61 ERA) could be the most valuable trade chip the Marlins have. The 30-year-old is in the final year of his contract and it seems unlikely that he'd re-sign with a last place team. Look for the Marlins to work out a deal before July 31st's trade deadline.
6/4/2013 10:57:00 PM
Description: Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco allowed two runs on four hits in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday in a no decision against the Phillies.
Insight: Nolasco has posted a 2.17 ERA over his last four starts and owns a 3.61 ERA. a 1.13 WHIP and a 67/20 K/BB over 82 1/3 innings this season. However, he's just 3-6.
5/19/2013 5:35:00 PM
Description: Miami righthander Ricky Nolasco snapped a three-game losing streak by winning Sunday against Arizona.
Insight: Despite a strong outing Sunday (8 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 11 K's), Nolasco is highly inconsistent and he usually doesn't get a whole of run support. Even if he played for a better team, Nolasco (3-5, 3.96 ERA) wouldn't be a particularly appealing fantasy option.
5/8/2013 6:53:00 PM
Description: Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco struck out nine batters, walked one and allowed four hits and one run in seven innings Wednesday against the Padres.
Insight: Nolasco regularly has been a pitcher who looks good on paper -- career 3.86 FIP -- but whose results never measure up -- career 4.46 ERA. This year, however, he has a 3.72 ERA and a 3.95 FIP through 48 1/3 innings.
4/28/2013 8:27:00 PM
Description: Marlins right-hander Ricky Nolasco has allowed three earned runs or less in five of six starts this year.
Insight: Nolasco gave up four hits and three runs in seven innings Sunday against the Cubs to advance to 2-2 on the year.
