Description: Jamie Moyer's tenure with the Blue Jays is over. He was released on Friday.
Insight: It wasn't a short stay for Moyer, who was dropped after a pair of unsuccessful outings with Toronto's Triple-A club, the Las Vegas 51s. We're not sure what the future holds for Moyer but it probably won't include a return to fantasy relevance.

Description: A decision on Jamie Moyer's future should come in the next few days. Moyer can opt out of his contract with the Orioles this weekend if he hasn't been promoted to the major leagues by then.
Insight: After a disastrous stint with the Rockies earlier in the season (2-5, 5.70 ERA in 10 starts), Moyer has begun to turn things around since coming over to the Baltimore organization. He is 1-1 with a 1.69 ERA in three outings for Triple-A Norfolk. The Orioles' starting rotation appears to be set right now though so it's unlikely that the 49-year-old will be called up to the majors anytime soon.

Description: Jamie Moyer has 269 career victories but if he wants to earn his 270th, he'll have to do it with a different franchise. The Rockies have designated the 49-year-old lefthander for assignment.
Insight: After putting together a surprisingly effective opening month (1-2, 3.14 ERA in five starts), Moyer has come unhinged in May with a 1-3 record and a terrible 8.64 ERA. It will be interesting to see if any ball clubs take a chance on Moyer, who has now thrown 4074 innings over his 25-year major league career.
4/24/2012 10:27:00 PM
Description: Jamie Moyer had his second straight quality start on Tuesday, throwing six innings and giving up one earned run on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts against the Pirates.
Insight: The 49-year-old Moyer continues to defy logic with his performance. He now has a 2.28 ERA in four starts and could be a solid SP option against weaker hitting clubs.
4/7/2012 9:47:00 PM
Description: Jamie Moyer's fell short in his quest to be the oldest pitcher ever to win a game on Saturday, as he gave up four runs (three earned) on five hits in five innings.
Insight: This is much more of a feel-good story than one with fantasy relevance. Stay away from the 49-year-old for now.
3/30/2012 9:27:00 PM
Description: It's official: Jamie Moyer will be in Colorado's starting rotation.
Insight: Not bad for a 49-year-old. But let's not get carried away. This guy's fastball hits 78 on the radar gun. There's no way the regular season will go as smoothly as spring training (2-0, 2.77 ERA) did for Moyer, especially since he'll be playing half of his games at Coors Field.
3/28/2012 10:03:00 PM
Description: Jamie Moyer struggled in his final start of the spring Wednesday. The 49-year-old surrendered seven hits, three earned runs and three walks in four innings. He also recorded four strikeouts. The Rockies were still able to win the game, defeating the White Sox 8-5.
Insight: That's a little more of what we'd expect from a guy who is old enough to have seen Jaws when it was in theaters. Despite this tough outing, Moyer has exceeded expectations this spring, posting an extremely impressive 2.77 ERA in 13 starts. Maybe, Moyer has a little left in the tank, but we're not ready to gamble our fantasy team on it. Applaud his effort, but leave him on the waiver wire.
