Description: Cubs starter Travis Wood has thrown a quality start (6 innings or more, three earned runs or less) in all six turns this season.
Insight: Wood dropped to 2-2 after losing a 3-2 game against the Padres Thursday, but he allowed just four hits and a walk in 7 2/3 innings. Wood has a 2.50 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP in 39 2/3 innings after posting a 4.27/1.20 season in 156 innings in 2012.

Description: Cubs starter Travis Wood fired six scoreless innings of one-hit ball Thursday against the Pirates and picked up his first win of the season.
Insight: Wood had a 4.27 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 156 innings for the Cubs last season, though he benefited from a .244 BABIP. His FIP was 4.84.

7/22/2012 6:10:00 PM
Description: Cubs starter Travis Wood has allowed 14 earned runs on 17 hits in 10 2/3 innings over his last two starts.
Insight: Wood won four straight starts from June 19 to July 6 but he's slipped up in his past two outings. The lefty doesn't have much upside and shouldn't be owned outside of the deepest of mixed leagues.

Hot7/17/2012 10:18:00 AM
Description: Cubs starter Travis Wood is just 4-3 this season, but he's been very good in his last four outings - all wins.
Insight: In Wood's last four starts, he's got a 1.01 ERA and 0.975 WHIP. He's only faced Miami once in his career with poor results, but that was in April 2011. He's a different pitcher now and on a roll. If you need a replacement starter due to injuries, Wood is a very nice option.

7/6/2012 11:44:00 AM
Description: Pitching for the Cubs, starter Travis Wood likely doesn't get a lot of attention, but he's pitched very well lately. Over his last three starts he's 3-0 with a 0.44 ERA and 0.822 WHIP
Insight: Wood (3-3, 3.05 ERA) could be a useful fill in, but will need to improve his SO/9 (6.3) if he wants a full-time fantasy gig.

7/1/2012 6:18:00 PM
Description: Cubs starter Travis Wood pitched his second straight scoreless outing Sunday to pick up his third straight win.
Insight: Wood (3-3, 3.05 ERA) held Houston scoreless on three hits in 7 2/3 innings Sunday. The left-hander has thrown a quality start in five of his last six turns, including four straight. While it's doubtful he'll maintain this level of success, he's worth an add on the off chance he does keep it up.

6/19/2012 11:06:00 PM
Description: Cubs starter Travis Wood won his first game with the team Tuesday against the White Sox. Wood allowed one earned run on four hits in six innings while walking four and striking out five.
Insight: Wood (1-3, 4.14) has delivered a solid line in six of his seven starts this season, with the lone exception being a six-run effort against San Diego on May 28. Those with pitching needs can give the lefty a shot, though he won't win many games with the lowly Cubs.

5/22/2012 8:30:00 PM
Description: Travis Wood was recalled from Triple-A Iowa and will make his second start of the season Tuesday against the Cubs.
Insight: Wood (0-0, 4.50 ERA) is taking over for Chris Volstad, who lost his place in the rotation after starting the season 0-6 with a 7.46 ERA.

3/29/2012 4:13:00 PM
Description: Travis Wood will start the season with Triple-A Iowa.
Insight: Wood showed flashes of potential in his two years with Cincinnati (11-10, 4.18 ERA) but he's had a dreadul spring (17.28 ERA in four games). At age 25, there is still time for Wood but right now, heading to the minors for a little extra seasoning seems like the right move.

Description: The Reds optioned left-hander starter Travis Wood to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Wood was 5-5 with a 5.11 ERA in 16 starts. He needs to pitch better if he hopes to return to the Reds' rotation; look for Homer Bailey to take Wood's spot in the rotation.

5/10/2011 10:25:00 AM
Description: Travis Wood threw 6 2/3 innings of scoreless ball and hit a 3 run homer to help the Reds beat the Astros on Monday night 6-1. Wood's strikeout numbers have been strong all along whic
Insight: I own Wood and almost dropped him after a few rough starts but didn't because he was still piling up strikeouts and he seems to be rounding into form now.

4/2/2011 10:31:00 PM
Description: Travis Wood was great today for the Reds scattering four hits in seven innings with seven K's.
Insight: Wood gave up his only run in a home run by Erick Almonte. The command and control artist threw 18 first pitch strikes in a great start to his season. Don't expect seven K's a game, but expect him to offer few free passes.

3/19/2011 8:07:00 PM
Description: Reds SP Travis Wood allowed one run on four hits in his five innings of work against the Diamondbacks; he walked one and struck out four.
Insight: While it is safe to expect some regression from Wood this season he should be owned in all formats.

10/6/2010 5:54:00 PM
Description: Reds P Travis Wood, who came in after Edinson Volquez struggled, tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings; Wood allowed one hit and a walk, while striking out 3.
Insight: Wood struggled at the end of the season, which cost him his starting spot. However, against the lefty-heavy lineup of the Phillies, Wood might have been a better choice than Volquez.

9/5/2010 6:10:00 AM
Description: Travis Wood gave the Reds a key win over the Cardinals after allowing one unearned run over seven innings last night.
Insight: Wood had struggled mightily in his last two starts so he was probably on a lot of benches yesterday. He can be active in deep leagues but shallow mixed league owners should want to see another good start.

8/29/2010 3:20:00 PM
Description: Travis Wood allowed three run on ten hits and three walks in five innings today in a no-decision against Cincinnati.
Insight: Wood hasn't pitched well in either start since coming back to the rotation. He shouldn't be used next week against St. Louis.

8/29/2010 1:04:00 PM
Description: Travis Wood has been bumped up in the Reds' rotation and is starting today.
Insight: He isn't a two-start pitcher for next week anymore and isn't a good option next week with a road start at St. Louis.

8/25/2010 6:30:00 AM
Description: Travis Wood had the worst start of his short career last night, giving up seven runs in four innings.
Insight: He had probably pitched a bit over his head in his previous starts. That being said, fantasy baseball owners can stick with him for his two-start week coming up.

8/20/2010 6:56:00 AM
Description: Travis Wood was recalled yesterday and limited Arizona to one run over six innings to earn a win and lower his ERA to 2.51.
Insight: Would should be owned in all formats as long as the Reds keep him in the rotation. He's not a must-start every week but he's not far off.

8/19/2010 9:06:00 PM
Description: The Reds called up Travis Wood today.
Insight: He is starting tonight after spending 10 days in the minors to try to limit his innings. He has pitched well enough to warrant a regular spot in the Reds rotation as long as they are in the playoff race. If they left him settle in, he can help owners in most leagues.
