Description: Braves right-hander Ben Sheets will make his final big league appearance Wednesday against the Pirates. Sheets will retire after the season.
Insight: Sheets made a valiant comeback effort after missing all of 2012, but he hasn't pitched since Aug. 24 due to shoulder injuries. He'll carry a 4-4 record with a 3.54 ERA and 1.34 WHIP into his final start on Wednesday.

Description: Atlanta righthander Ben Sheets has been moved to the 15-day DL. He's struggling with right shoulder inflammation.
Insight: Sheets has followed up a fantastic July (3-0, 0.50 ERA) with a disappointing August (1-4, 5.34). He probably won't carry very much fantasy value upon his return.

Description: Braves starter Ben Sheets has thrown at least six innings in all five starts and allowed one run or less in four of five this season.
Insight: Sheets (4-1, 1.41 ERA) held Philadelphia to one run on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings Monday, though he failed to strike out a batter after fanning 23 in his first 24 2/3 innings. While he's not going to finish the season with a sub-2.00 ERA, he should be owned in most formats.

7/21/2012 4:54:00 PM
Description: Braves starter Ben Sheets tossed six shutout innings for the second straight start Saturday against Washington to improve to 2-0.
Insight: Sheets has a spotless ERA and 0.92 WHIP in his first two major league starts since 2010. Though he won't maintain this level of performance as he builds up innings, the right-hander is still a must-add in all formats due to his past history of dominance.

7/15/2012 5:24:00 PM
Description: Braves starter Ben Sheets' first start since 2010 Sunday against the Mets was a rousing success, as the right-hander shut out New York on two hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out five.
Insight: The effort netted Sheets his first win in more than two years. The right-hander is formely one of the most dominant starters in the National League, so he's worth an add to see if he can recapture that form while he's still healthy.

7/12/2012 10:14:00 PM
Description: As expected, righthander Ben Sheets will make his Braves' debut Sunday against the Mets.
Insight: Sheets has not appeared in a major league game since he started 20 times for the A's back in 2010 so we're not sure exactly what the 33-year-old will be bringing to the table on Sunday. In two minor league appearances for the Double-A Mississippi Braves this season, Sheets is 0-1 with a 5.06 ERA in 10.2 innings pitched.

7/8/2012 10:48:00 AM
Description: Braves starter Ben Sheets could make his debut with Atlanta on July 15 against the Mets, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Sheets will make his second minor league start for Double-A Mississippi Monday. If the right-hander feels well enough to join the big league club, then Atlanta will call him up to start. The injury prone right-hander will have a difficult time making it through the season, but he'll be someone to target in fantasy as long as he's healthy.

7/4/2012 10:27:00 PM
Description: Braves starter Ben Sheets allowed four runs on five hits in five innings in his first start with Double-A Mississippi. Sheets signed with Atlanta earlier this week after not pitching in the majors since 2010.
Insight: According to Scott Coleman of SB Nation Atlanta, Sheets' fastball sat in the 89-93 range Wednesday, and his curveball looked good. The former Brewers ace will have mixed league value if he can make it to the big leagues in the second half.
