Final Score: Philadelphia 1, Atlanta 0
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Ben Revere's RBI single in the eighth inning lifted the Philadelphia Phillies to a 1-0 win over the Atlanta Braves in the finale of a rain-shortened four-game series. Domonic Brown opened the eighth with a base hit and moved to second on Wil Nieves' sacrifice bunt. After Ryan Howard walked, Revere slapped a humpback liner to shallow center to bring Brown around. B.J. Upton's throw to the plate was offline allowing Brown to score easily. Jonathan Papelbon worked a perfect ninth to earn his fourth save of the season. Starter A.J. Burnett scattered three hits and two walks while fanning five over seven scoreless innings. Antonio Bastardo (2-1) earned the win after hurling a scoreless eighth. Revere finished the game 3-for-4 and Chase Utley added two hits for the Phillies, who open a 10-game road trip starting in Colorado on Friday. Alex Wood (2-2) was the hard-luck loser on Thursday. The left-hander allowed just one run on eight hits while striking out seven over eight innings. Tuesday's game in this series was rained out.
