NOTES:
The LPGA Tour travels to Canada this week for the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic in Waterloo, Ontario. The top eight players in the world are in the field, led by world No. 1 Inbee Park. In addition, 15 of the top-20 on the money list are expected to compete. The tournament is being held at Grey Silo Golf Course for the second straight season. The course was designed by Steve Young and opened in 2001.

Park will be trying to win her fourth straight event and seventh of the season. She has won the first three major championships of the year, only the second player in LPGA Tour history to do so, joining Babe Zaharias, who won all three majors the LPGA played in 1950. Park currently leads the money list with more than $2.1 million in earnings. No other player has even earned $900,000. American and world No. 2 Stacy Lewis is the only other player with at least two wins this season.

With a win, Park would become the first player to earn four consecutive Tour wins since Lorena Ochoa won four in a row in 2008. LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame member Nancy Lopez holds the LPGA record with five consecutive victories in tournaments participated in 1978. Annika Sorenstam also accomplished the feat across two seasons in 2004-05.

Last year, Brittany Lang rolled in a short birdie putt on the third playoff hole to capture her first LPGA Tour title. Lang toppled Hee Kyung Seo, Chella Choi and third-round leader Park in the playoff. Choi was eliminated on the first extra hole, then Park was knocked out on the second hole. It came down to Lang and Seo, and Lang poured in a 5-footer for birdie to get the victory. Lang became the first Duke graduate to win on the LPGA Tour.

A strong Canadian contingent will be in force this week, as eight LPGA players from north of the border will compete. Sara-Maude Juneau, Lorie Kane, Sue Kim, Maude-Aimee LeBlanc, Rebecca-Lee Bentham, Alena Sharp, Jessica Shepley and Stephanie Sherlock will all represent Canada at Grey Silo Golf Course. In addition, two sponsor invitees were handed out to Canadians, Brooke Henderson and Jennifer Kirby.

The LPGA Tour heads to the Buckeye State next week for the Marathon Classic in Sylvania, Ohio, where So Yeon Ryu captured the title last year.
