NOTES
Justin Timberlake`s tournament is the penultimate PGA Tour event of 2010. Tour cards are at a minimum so it`s a battle to get into the top 125 on the money list by the end of next Sunday. Woody Austin is in the unenviable position of being No. 125, but if Rocco Mediate proved anything over the weekend, it`s that older golfers still can win on this PGA Tour. Mediate will bring his unique brand of star power along with Rickie Fowler, Anthony Kim, Davis Love III and Charley Hoffman, who finished fourth in the FedEx Cup race. Martin Laird knocked off Chad Campbell and George McNeill in a playoff to win last year`s title. The Scotsman eliminated Campbell on the first extra hole, then birdied the third playoff hole to for his first PGA Tour title. Laird became an unwitting poster boy this season for the flaws of FedEx Cup playoff scoring. After a season where he had two top-10s, Laird lost a playoff at the The Barclays to Matt Kuchar, then lasted through the other three events and finished 11th in the final standings. Golf Channel will carry all four rounds. Next week is the final PGA Tour event of 2010, the Children`s Miracle Network Classic at Walt Disney World, and it was captured last year by Stephen Ames.
