NOTES:
The European Tour travels to Paris, France this week for the inaugural Vivendi Cup 2010. Only two players ranked in the top-50 of the world rankings are in the field - Padraig Harrington (22) and Peter Hanson (42). Harrington and Hanson are both members of the European Ryder Cup team that will take on the United States next week in Wales. This tournament will be played at Golf de Joyenval in Paris, which was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and opened in 1992.

The Vivendi Trophy was played six times from 2000 to 2009 and featured teams from Great Britain and Ireland taking on Continental Europe in a match-play format.

Last year the event was a four-day match-play contest in which GB&I defeated Continental Europe 16 1/2 - 11 1/2. GB&I was captained by Paul McGinley while Continental Europe was led by Thomas Bjorn. Last year's captains will be two of Colin Montgomerie's four Vice Captains for The Ryder Cup at The Celtic Manor Resort next week. Montgomerie's other two Vice Captains are Darren Clarke and Sergio Garcia.

Golf de Joyenval will be staging a European Tour event for the first time. This will be the 11th different tournament staged on French soil.

This event will be a 72-hole stroke play tournament, with the first 36 holes played as a team pro-am event involving one professional and one amateur over the Marly and Retz Courses. The leading 65 professionals and those tied for 65th place will play the final 36 holes over the Marly course.

The best players from Europe will meet the best players from the United States next week at The Ryder Cup at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales. The Americans won the Cup in 2008.
