NOTES
This week, the European Tour goes back to Asia for the China Open. The tour spent part of the early season in Asia, but is back for a two-week stretch. Henrik Stenson, Y.E. Yang, Oliver Wilson and Graeme McDowell are the only four players who teed it up at Augusta National and made the long journey to China for this week`s championship. Both Ryder Cup captains, Colin Montgomerie for Europe and Corey Pavin for the United States, are scheduled to compete as well. Last year, Scott Strange erased a four-stroke deficit on Sunday to earn his second European Tour title. He shot a four-under 68 to squeak by Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano. The 2009 event was staged at Beijing CBD International Golf Club in Beijing. The Golf Channel has tape-delayed coverage all week. Next week is the Ballantine`s Championship in Korea. Thongchai Jaidee won the trophy last year.
