Hager back on the sideline at Bryant
Smithfield, RI (Sports Network) - Former North Dakota State and Northeastern University football coach Rocky Hager has been named the new offensive line coach at Bryant University.
Hager will join coach Marty Fine's staff along with Darryl Jackson, who will coach the defensive backs, and Michael Engle, who will be responsible for the wide receivers.
Hager was part of four Division II national championship squads at North Dakota State, two as an assistant coach in 1985 and 1986, and two as the head coach in a pair of undefeated seasons in 1988 and 1990.
He later spent seven seasons as assistant at Temple before becoming the head coach at Northeastern University. But after six seasons, the program was dropped following the 2009 campaign.
Bryant has posted a combined 26-18 record in its first four seasons in Division I. The Bulldogs become an official member of the Northeast Conference this season.
