North Dakota dismisses Murray from team
Grand Forks, ND (Sports Network) - The University of North Dakota dismissed two-time All-Great West Conference running back Josh Murray from the team last week for a violation of team rules.
Through Murray's junior season, he ranks ninth in North Dakota history with 2,346 rushing yards and is tied for eighth place with 20 rushing touchdowns.
The 5-foot-11, 209-pound Murray, from Pepin, Wisc., made the Great West second team this past season. He led the Sioux with 670 yards and four touchdowns on 121 carries, and his 32 receptions for 237 yards ranked second on the team. He led the team with 105.9 all-purpose yards per game.
He made the Great West first team as a sophomore in 2008, rushing for a conference-high 1,146 yards as well as 12 touchdowns on 188 carries.
