Kent, OH (Sports Network) - Zac Dysert threw for 125 yards and a touchdown to
lead the Miami-Ohio RedHawks to a 9-3 victory over the Kent State Golden
Flashes in a Mid-American Conference affair at Dix Stadium.
Dysert completed 13-of-27 under center to pace Miami-Ohio (2-4, 1-1 MAC) in
the win. Erik Finklea gained 68 yards on 18 carries to lead the Redhawks
ground-attack, while Chris Givens caught three passes for 47 yards and a score
to lead the receiving corps.
Spencer Keith threw for 169 yards with no touchdowns and one interception to
lead Kent State (1-6, 0-3) in a losing effort, while Trayion Durham ran for 51
yards and Sam Kirkland grabbed four passes for 59 yards.
A 32-yard Freddy Cortez field goal early in the opening period of play gave
the Golden Flashes a 3-0 lead.
After a quiet second frame, the RedHawks got on the board and took a 7-3 lead
with a 16-yard strike from Dysert to Givens.
C.J. Marck's sack of Keith in the end zone for a safety early in the final
stanza gave the Redhawks a 9-3 lead that they would not relinquish.
