Kalamazoo, MI (Sports Network) - Alex Carder accounted for four touchdowns for Western Michigan, as the quarterback led the Broncos to an easy 45-21 decision over the Bowling Green Falcons in Mid-American Conference action at Waldo Stadium.

Carder finished with 212 passing yards and threw three touchdowns for WMU (4-2, 2-0 MAC), while adding another score on the ground to go along with his 95 rushing yards. Tevin Drake led the way on the ground however, as the tailback rumbled for 112 yards and one score on just 10 carries. Jordan White played a large role in the win, hauling in 12 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Matt Schilz led the way for BGSU (3-3, 1-1), throwing for 194 yards and one score. However, the signal caller left the game and was replaced by Trent Hurley, who completed 6-of-10 passes for 69 yards. Anthon Samuel led the way in the ground for the Falcons, rushing for 59 yards and one touchdown.

The Broncos struck first in this league contest, as Carder plunged into the end zone for a one-yard score.

Bowling Green responded instantly, as Schilz hooked up with Jorden for a 57- yard scoring strike less than two minutes later.

Western Michigan was able to head into the second frame with a 14-7 edge, thanks to a 12-yard touchdown scamper by Drake.

Bowling Green tied the game once again, this time it was a five-yard touchdown run by Samuel that drew the game even.

Western Michigan's offense took over for the rest of the half though, as Carder tossed two touchdowns to give the Broncos a 28-14 lead at the break. The first score was on a one-yard pass that went in the direction of Chris Prom, and that was followed by a nine-yard TD toss to White in the final seconds of the second stanza.

The Broncos continued to build on their lead early in the third frame when John Potter drilled a 41-yard field goal.

Carder and Jordan hooked up once again later in the quarter, giving the Broncos a 38-14 edge. This time the score went for 26 yards.

Western Michigan continued to punish Bowling Green's defense, as the Broncos capped off a 10-play, 84-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge by Antoin Scriven early in the final quarter.

Bowling Green used an 11-play drive that was capped off by a four-yard touchdown run by Jamel Martin, but that came late in the contest, leaving the Falcons with little time to mount a serious comeback.
