Griffin got the scoring started with a one-yard touchdown plunge at the 9:24 mark of the opening quarter, capping an 11-play, 82-yard opening drive.

Texas Tech answered right back with a nine-play, 80-yard drive, punctuated by Eric Stephens' 10-yard touchdown scamper.

The Red Raiders then tried to catch Baylor off guard with an onside kick, but Terrance Ganaway was ready, as he scooped up the ball and returned it 38 yards for a TD.

Later in the first quarter, Texas Tech tied the score at 14-14 on a one-yard touchdown pass from Potts to Torres.

Baylor reclaimed the lead with 11:52 remaining in the second quarter, when Griffin found Josh Gordon for a 34-yard scoring strike.

But Texas Tech responded less than a minute later, as Batch broke free for a 37-yard touchdown run.

The Red Raiders took a 28-21 lead midway through the quarter on a three-yard touchdown pass from Potts to Torres.

Potts wasn't done there, as he extended TTU's lead to 35-21 on a 10-yard scoring strike to Lewis with 1:38 to play until halftime.

The rapid scoring pace continued only seconds later, as Griffin hooked up with Wright for a 62-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 35-28.

The Red Raiders opened the second half with an 11-play, 53-yard drive, but they had to settle for three points on a 30-yard field goal by Matt Williams.

TTU pushed the margin to 45-28 midway through the third quarter on a seven- yard touchdown pass from Potts to Batch.

Baylor answered with 31-yard field goal by Aaron Jones at the 3:48 mark of the third quarter, capping a 10-play, 58-yard drive.

The Bears trimmed the deficit to 45-38 with 14:11 to play in the fourth quarter, as Griffin found the end zone on a two-yard run. However, the Red Raider defense held its ground the rest of the way to keep Baylor out of the end zone.

With the win, Texas Tech avoided its first-ever 0-3 start in Big 12 play.
