Final Score: (14) Arkansas 31, Louisiana-Monroe 7
Little Rock, AR (Sports Network) - Ryan Mallett threw three touchdowns and ran
one in to lead 14th-ranked Arkansas to a 31-7 win over Louisiana-Monroe
at War Memorial Stadium.
Mallett went 28-for-43 with 400 yards and an interception while Greg Childs
caught 12 passes for 146 yards and two scores for the Razorbacks (2-0), who
opener their season last Saturday with a 44-3 win over Tennessee Tech.
"We're 2-0 and that's the main thing," said Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino.
"I'm really proud of our defense. It's good to see them understanding what
they're supposed to do, which allowed us to play very fast and tackle well and
make plays. We did give up the one long drive at the end, but for three and a
half quarters, we shut them out."
Kolton Browning was 7-for-17 for 74 yards, one touchdown and one pick for the
Warhawks (0-1), who failed to win in the debut of head coach Todd Berry after
a 6-6 2009 campaign. Luther Ambrose hauled in the TD toss.
"We played an extremely good and well-coached team in Arkansas," said Berry.
"I think the people that are from Monroe have heard me say this before, when
you get a quarterback, you are good on defense and have a sound kicking game
you are going to win some championships. "They made some plays and we didn't
make enough of them. I felt we played pretty well on defense."
Mallett fumbled on Arkansas' first possession, but held the Warhawks to a

himself from a yard out for a 14-0 lead with 6:12 left in the third.
After an exchange of turnovers, Rudell Crim picked off Browning to give

The next Razorbacks series saw Mallett and Childs connect on an 18-yard
touchdown for a 24-0 lead with 8:46 left in the game.
Louisiana-Monroe finally got on the board on its next touch as Browning found
Ambrose over the middle and he took it into the end zone from 25 yards out to
