Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Dan LeFevour threw for 268 yards and a pair of
touchdowns to lead the Central Michigan Chippewas to a 20-13 victory over the
Buffalo Bulls in a Mid-American Conference battle at UB Stadium.
LeFevour added a 98-yard effort on the ground as well in the win for Central
Michigan (4-1, 2-0 MAC), while Antonio Brown grabbed six balls for 112 yards
and Bryan Anderson caught eight passes for 95 yards as well for the Chippewas.
Ike Nduka gained 172 yards on just 22 carries to lead Buffalo (1-4, 0-2) in
the losing effort, while signal-caller Zach Maynard completed 16-of-31 passes
for 210 yards for the Bulls. Naaman Roosevelt caught six passes for 114 yards
as well in the loss.
The Chippewas took a 7-0 lead late in the opening period of play following an
11-yard toss from LeFevour to Anderson.
The Chippewas found the end zone again early in the second period following a
seven-yard run by Brown. However, the extra point was no good, leaving CMU
with a 13-0 edge.
The Bulls made it on the scoreboard late in the period with a 22-yard A.J.
Principe field goal.
Buffalo trailed 14-10 going into the break following a 24-yard strike from
Maynard to Roosevelt with under a minute remaining.
LeFevour added to the Central Michigan advantage early in the third period of
play with a 27-yard toss to Brown.
The Bulls added another Principe field goal late in the frame, a 21-yard kick
that accounted for the final score of the contest.
The start of the game was delayed due to weather concerns.
