NCAA Game Summary - UL-Monroe at Troy

Troy, AL (Sports Network) - Levi Brown threw for 378 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Troy Trojans to a 42-21 win over the UL-Monroe Warhawks in Sun Belt Conference action at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.

Brown completed 28-of-41 passes for the Trojans (6-2, 5-0 SBC) as they remained undefeated in league play and made themselves bowl eligible with their sixth victory of the campaign.

Also having a strong game for Troy, which has now won six in a row since dropping decisions to Bowling Green and top-ranked Florida to begin the campaign, was Jerrel Jernigan who collected 13 passes for 201 yards and a score.

The Warhawks (4-4, 3-1), losers of two straight, were paced by Cody Wells who completed 23-of-36 for 279 yards and three touchdowns, but he was also picked off three times and sacked just as many on the night.

Troy opened the game with back-to-back touchdowns in the first quarter as DuJuan Harris hit the end zone on a two-yard run and Brown hit Josh Jarboe with a 16-yard scoring strike to make the score 14-0.

ULM's Darrell McNeal put the visitors on the board when he reeled in a seven- yard TD pass from Wells, cutting the deficit to 14-7 midway through the second frame.

The teams traded touchdowns heading into the half as Brown combined with Chip Reeves on a 33-yard TD play for the Trojans and Wells hit Alvin Jordan with a three-yard scoring pass with just seven seconds remaining to make the score 21-14 at the break.

In the third quarter the Trojans took command as Brown threw TD passes of 22 and 41 yards to Andrew Davis and Jernigan, respectively, making the score 35-14.

Wells and McNeal locked up once more for UL-Monroe on a 26-yard TD pass, cutting the deficit to two touchdowns at the end of the third.

The only scoring of the fourth quarter came from Troy's Boris Lee who returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown to finish off the three-touchdown triumph.

The Trojans picked up the overwhelming win despite converting just 4-of-13 on third down and one of their three fourth-down attempts.
