Eskimos' Charles among CFL's top players
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Edmonton Eskimos running back Hugh Charles was among those selected as the top players in the CFL for Week 2 of the 2013 season.
Charles picked up the offensive honor after rushing for 119 yards on just 11 carries, including a 70-yard touchdown in Edmonton's 30-20 win over Hamilton. He added three catches for 27 yards with a 13-yard score.
Winnipeg's Bryant Turner captured the defensive award. He had five tackles, including three sacks and a forced fumble in the Blue Bombers' 19-11 win over Montreal.
Saskatchewan's Jock Sanders garnered the special teams nod. He returned four kickoffs for 100 yards and six punts for 74 yards to help the Roughriders claim a 36-21 triumph over Calgary.
British Columbia running back Andrew Harris was tabbed the top Canadian. He carried the ball 15 times for 103 yards with a touchdown in the Lions' 24-16 win over Toronto.
