Hamilton's Burris headlines CFL's best

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Henry Burris was among four players chosen as the Canadian Football League's top players for Week 14.

BC Lions linebacker Adam Bighill, Montreal Alouettes kick returner Trent Guy and Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish also received honors after stellar performances for their respective teams during the week.

Burris earned Offensive Player of the Week as he passed for 326 yards and a career-high tying five touchdowns on 28-of-32 passing, while also rushing for 34 yards on four carries to lead the Tiger-Cats to a 41-28 victory over Montreal.

Bighill, who was named Defensive Player of the Week in Week 13, took home his second straight award after racking up a franchise record 13 tackles in the Lions' 27-21 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Guy garnered Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after registering 125 yards on six kick returns and another 65 yards on four punt returns in the Alouettes' loss to Hamilton on Friday.

Cornish was selected as the Canadian Player of the Week for his performance in Calgary's 39-15 win over Edmonton. He rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries to help the Stampeders move within one game of first place in the West Division.
