GAME NOTES: The Western Carolina Catamounts hope to continue their hot shooting ways when they visit the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon.

Western Carolina broke the program's single-game 3-point record with 20 makes from behind the arc in Wednesday's 92-84 victory over Charleston Southern. Tom Tankelewicz made 10 of them -- tying WCU's single-game record -- and finished with 30 points to up his season total to 11.1 ppg.

Leading scorer Trey Sumler poured in 18 points in addition to adding seven assists and seven rebounds. Sumler is putting up 17.8 ppg as well as a team- high 4.4 apg and a respectable 4.4 rpg.

Tankelewicz and Sumler's performance helped the Catamounts snap a three-game slide and appeared to get them out of an offensive funk that saw them average just 66.6 ppg during the skid. For the season, WCU is connecting on just 40.9 percent of its shots while opponents are filling it up at a 45.0 percent clip.

Last Saturday, the Catamounts play a Georgia program they have never beaten. In fact, they are just 2-35 all-time against SEC teams, including 0-5 against the Bulldogs, who are riding a four-game win streak.

Georgia's run comes immediately after dropping three in a row in the Charleston Classic. The most recent win came against Gardner-Webb despite a season-low point total. Juwan Parker totaled 12 points and nine rebounds as the Bulldogs overcame 19 turnovers and pulled out a hard-fought 58-49 victory. Georgia had a huge advantage on the glass, 46-27, and held its opponent to 32 percent shooting.

The point total was nearly 17 points below Georgia's season average (74.6), and leading scorer Charles Mann was limited to eight points on 2-of-9 shooting. Mann is one of four double-digit scorers for the Bulldogs, averaging 13.5 ppg in addition to doling out nearly three assists per contest. Nemanja Djurisic has been effective off the bench with 11.6 ppg on 58.2 percent shooting, while Kenny Gaines and Brandon Morris round out the top scorers with 11.2 and 10.0 ppg, respectively.

Georgia dropped a game to a Southern Conference opponent earlier this season -- Davidson -- but another setback against a lesser foe doesn't seem likely considering Western Carolina's recent offensive struggles, Wednesday's game notwithstanding.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Georgia 75, Western Carolina 63
