DeKalb, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Darrell Bowie finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists as the Northern Illinois Huskies coasted to an 88-63 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas in a Mid-American Conference tilt at the Convocation Center.

Aaric Armstead added 17 points and eight boards as the Huskies (11-12, 5-6 MAC) picked up their fourth win in five games. Jordan Threloff contributed 14 points and seven rebounds while Daveon Balls netted 11 points.

Chris Fowler tallied 19 points and seven assists to pace CMU (8-15, 1-10). Braylon Rayson scored 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor for the Chippewas, who have now lost two straight.

NIU went into the intermission on top, 38-29, after it made an even 50 percent of its field goal attempts and converted 7-of-10 tries at the charity stripe in the opening stanza. The Chippewas trailed at the break despite connecting on 6-of-12 attempts from 3-point range in the first half.

CMU was limited to 39.3 percent efficiency from the floor including a 2-of-13 clip from behind the 3-point line after halftime. The Huskies sank 17-of-18 shots at the charity stripe in the second half to extend their advantage.

NIU dominated on the interior as it enjoyed a 39-19 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored the Chippewas, 38-22, in the paint.
