San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Jeromie Hill put together a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners over the Nicholls State Colonels, 76-58, in a BracketBusters matchup at the Convocation Center.
Hill went 3-of-4 from 3-point range for UTSA (7-19), which won its second in a row after a six-game losing streak. Kannon Burrage led the team in scoring with 17 points while Michael Hale III added 16 points and three steals.
Nicholls (7-18) was led by JaMarkus Horace who scored 14 points to go with nine rebounds. Dantrell Thomas and Amin Torres added 10 points each as the Colonels took their sixth loss in the last seven games.
UTSA shot over 50.0 percent from the field and knocked down seven 3-pointer in the first half as the squad carried a 45-33 lead into the break.
In the second half the Roadrunners shooting dropped down to 37.5 percent but they were able to hold the Colonels to 35.7 percent shooting from the field and 1-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Roadrunners earned their edge at the free-throw line where they went 17- of-22 while the Colonels shot just 4-of-7.
