Final Score: Oregon 70, (4) Arizona 66

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - E.J. Singler stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, seven assists, seven rebounds and three steals on Thursday, as the Oregon Ducks upended the fourth-ranked Arizona Wildcats, 70-66, at Matthew Knight Arena.

Tony Woods, Carlos Emory and Dominic Artis each added 10 points for the Ducks (13-2, 2-0 Pac-12), who improved to 11-0 at home and earned their first victory over a top-5 team since they upset then-No. 1 UCLA on Jan. 6, 2007.

"The crowd provided a different atmosphere, especially the student section and pit crew," Oregon head coach Dana Altman said. "They really got us going. Crowds like ours are an example of why playing college basketball on the road is so tough. We definitely had the home court advantage tonight."

Mark Lyons led Arizona (14-1, 2-1) with a game-high 21 points, while Solomon Hill donated 16 points and Nick Johnson added 12 for the Wildcats, who have lost their last two meetings with the Ducks.

"Our effort picked up in the second half, but it wasn't enough," Lyons said.

Oregon led 41-30 at the break before Damyean Dotson opened the second half with a 3-pointer to push the advantage to 14.

Arizona answered with a 12-4 surge to pull within 48-42, but the Wildcats failed to score a bucket from the field over the next four-plus minutes, allowing the Ducks to build their lead back to 10, 60-50, on an Emory triple just before the midpoint of the second half.

A Singler trey a bit later extended the lead to 11 before the Ducks went cold, as they failed to score a field goal over the final 6:49.

With Oregon struggling to convert baskets, Arizona made its run, as Hill finished a three-point play before Lyons knocked down a pair of triples around a Johnson layup to make it 67-63 with 1:26 still to play.

After Singler connected on two free throws, Johnson found some space and buried an open 3-pointer to bring the Wildcats within 69-66 with 53 seconds remaining.

Johnson then grabbed a defensive rebound off an Artis miss, but he was stripped at the other end by Johnathan Loyd, who split a pair of free throws to make it a two-possession game with 9.2 ticks remaining, sealing the outcome.

Arizona opened the contest on an 11-0 run behind a trio of 3-pointers, but the Ducks outscored the visitors 41-19 over the final 16:57 of the first half to take an 11-point edge into the locker room.

It was the 70th meeting between the schools, with Arizona owning a 45-25 advantage ... Arizona fell to 4-2 in its last six trips to Eugene ... The Ducks have won 17 straight home games overall ...
