Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - De'Mon Brooks led the way with 26 points as the Davidson Wildcats downed The Citadel Bulldogs, 77-66, in a Southern Conference clash at McAlister Field House.
For the Wildcats (19-5, 13-1 SoCon), J.P. Kuhlman added 16 points and Chris Czerapowicz chipped in 14 points.
Mike Groselle led the Bulldogs (4-20, 1-12) with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Bo Holston finished with 11 points.
The Citadel struggled from the floor to open the contest, making just 32.1 percent of its shots. Davidson hit on 41.98 percent of its field goals, including 5-of-13 three-pointers, as the Wildcats took a commanding 38-21 lead into halftime.
After intermission, Davidson shot even better, connecting on 52.4 percent, while holding The Citadel to 44.4 percent. The Wildcats led comfortably throughout the entire second half, stretching their lead to as many as 21, as they coasted to victory, their 12th in their last 13 outings.
The Citadel outscored Davidson in the paint, 40-24. The Bulldogs finished the game making just 3-of-18 from beyond the three-point arc.
