(Sunday, December 1)
Final Score: Pacific 93, North Dakota 76
Eugene, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Ross Rivera came off the bench to score 19 points, leading five players in double figures, as the Pacific Tigers registered a 93-76 win over North Dakota as part of the Global Sports Challenge at Matthew Knight Arena.
Sama Taku produced 18 points for the Tigers (6-1), followed by Andrew Bock and Tony Gill with 14 apiece, the latter also clearing a team-best eight rebounds. T.J. Wallace pitched in with 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting as well.
North Dakota (2-4) was paced by Troy Huff who tallied a game-high 21 points, pulled down eight rebounds and made four steals. Jamal Webb chipped in 16 points and Aaron Anderson 11 as the team bowed for the third time in as many games.
A close game through the first 20 minutes, both squads knocked down 17 field goals and, thanks in part to a 9-of-10 showing at the free-throw line, it was North Dakota with a 48-45 advantage at the break.
However, in the second half North Dakota dropped to a mere 34.6 percent accuracy from the field and that included a dismal 1-of-13 behind the 3-point line, allowing Pacific to run away with the victory.
The Tigers not only converted 56.5 percent from the field overall, they limited North Dakota to just 6-of-27 on the perimeter.
