NCAA Game Summary - Vermont at Cleveland State

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Norris Cole scored 27 points and handed out five assists as the Cleveland State Vikings shaded the Vermont Catamounts, 63-60, in first-round action of the National Invitation Tournament at the Wolstein Center.
Aaron Pogue scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the second- seeded Vikings (27-8) who will face the College of Charleston in the second round.
Pat Bergmann scored 16 points for the seventh-seeded Catamounts (23-9). Luke Apfeld added 12 points and nine rebounds, followed by Brendan Bald who added 11 points even though he shot just 5-of-15 from the floor.
Vermont led 27-25 at halftime after rallying from a seven-point deficit. The Catamounts shot an even 50 percent from the floor but just 1-of-7 beyond the arc and 0-1 at the free-throw line.
Neither team led by more than four in the second half. Bald's three-pointer brought Vermont to within a point at 61-60 with five seconds left. After Cole hit two foul shots to put the Vikings up by three, Matt Glass missed a three- pointer at the buzzer that would have forced overtime.
Cleveland State was 7-of-20 from long range, compared to Vermont which was just 2-of-13 from outside the arc.
