Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Jamar Diggs finished with 18 points and seven assists and Noah Dahlman added 17 points to pace the Wofford Terriers in a 79-61 victory over the USC Upstate Spartans in the opening round of the Charleston Classic.
Kevin Giltner supplied 13 points and Tim Johnson added 10 points, nine assists and nine rebounds for Wofford (1-2), who will play Georgetown on Friday. The Hoyas topped Coastal Carolina, 80-61, in the tournament's opening game.
Torrey Craig led the Spartans (0-3) with 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench, and Carter Cook added eight points and six rebounds in the loss.
Wofford started the game on a 12-0 run and held a 49-26 advantage heading to intermission.
The Spartans hit on 11-of-35 from the field and 10-of-18 from the free throw line in the second half, but the Terriers' first half lead was too much to overcome.
Wofford finished the game 8-of-16 from beyond the arc, while Upstate went just 8-of-23 from the same distance.
