Florida State thumps Alabama A&M
Tallahassee, FL (Sports Network) - Deividas Dulkys scored a game-high 19 points, as 22nd-ranked Florida State routed Alabama A&M, 81-34, to take its sixth consecutive win.
Xavier Gibson had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Seminoles (12-2), who haven't lost since a 77-64 setback at Ohio State on December 2. Michael Snaer added 10 points for FSU.
Bo Amusa had 14 points and five boards to pace Alabama A&M (3-5), which has dropped two in a row. Maurice Kemp and Evan Hilton each scored six for the Bulldogs.
Kemp's layup with a little over seven minutes left in the first half got A&M within 22-16, but Florida State countered with a 10-0 run and eventually went into the break leading 39-24.
The Bulldogs didn't score for the first six minutes of the second half, as Seminoles scored 13 consecutive points. Dulkys and Chris Singleton each hit a three in the rally, which put FSU up 52-24, and the hosts cruised from there.
FSU shot 50.8 percent, though made just 14-of-23 free throws. The Seminoles also held a 50-30 rebounding advantage...Alabama A&M made 25.9 percent of its shots.
