Dunn, Baylor cruise past Prairie View A&M
Waco, TX (Sports Network) - LaceDarius Dunn scored 18 points as No. 22 Baylor breezed past Prairie View A&M, 90-63, at the Ferrell Center.
Henry Dugat and Tweety Carter each added 17 points for the Bears (8-1), who have won two in a row since their lone setback against Wake Forest. Curtis Jerrells contributed 13 points and eight assists.
Michael Griffin scored 13 points for the Panthers (3-6), who have lost two in a row. Darnell Hugee picked up 13 points and 11 boards, while Tim Meadows added 13 points.
After both sides played close in the early going, Prairie View took an 18-11 lead thanks to a 9-0 run which saw Griffin score seven points.
Dugat nailed a three just prior to the midway point of the first half and his eight points in less than a minute spurred Baylor's turnaround from a seven-point deficit to a 26-20 lead with 6:35 left in the half after a 14-2 run.
Carter drained a three to open up a 39-26 advantage with 1:22 to go and Baylor led 42-28 at the break.
Dunn drilled a three-pointer with 11:24 left in the contest for the Bears' first 20-point lead of the game, then Quincy Acy's dunk with 5:56 to play pushed the edge to 75-47 and effectively wrapped up the game in Baylor's favor.
Baylor has won all 10 matchups in this series...The Bears won despite a 43-33 deficit on the glass...Dunn led all players with two blocked shots...Carter and Dugat each made four shots from beyond the arc, while Griffin led his club with a trio of three-pointers.
