                   === Falcons add Pioli as assistant GM ===
 Flowery  Branch, GA ( - The Atlanta Falcons have named Scott
 Pioli as the club's assistant general manager.
 Pioli  spent the 2013  season as part of the media after four years as general
 manager  of the  Kansas City Chiefs. In  his second season with the Chiefs, he
 was  named  the executive of the  year by numerous outlets for orchestrating a
 turnaround that included an AFC West title in 2010.
 Prior  to  joining the Chiefs,  Pioli spent nine  years (2000-08) in the front
 office  of the New England Patriots. He helped New England to three Super Bowl
 titles  during his  tenure as  vice president  of player  personnel, where  he
 worked with current Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff.
 "Scott is one of the most respected and adept talent evaluators in the NFL and
 a  member  of three  Super  Bowl  championship  teams,"  said Dimitroff  in  a
 statement  Wednesday. "We  have  worked together  well in  the  past and  been
 friends  for more  than 20 years. We  have had the opportunity to experience a
 lot  of success together, and I am very pleased that he has agreed to join our
 personnel team so we can work together again."
 Pioli  began  his NFL career  as a scouting  assistant with Bill Belichick and
 the  Cleveland Browns in 1992. He spent the next three seasons with the Browns
 in   their  pro  personnel  department  and  was  promoted  to  pro  personnel
 coordinator when the team moved to Baltimore in 1996. In 1997, Pioli was hired
 as  the New  York Jets'  Director  of Pro  Personnel, where  he worked  before
 following Belichick to New England in 2000.
