=== Bills release long-time kicker Rian Lindell ===

Pittsford, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Bills have released kicker Rian
 Lindell.

The 36-year-old veteran had spent the past 10 seasons with the Bills and
leaves as the second-leading scorer in franchise history. He has 980 points
with Buffalo, behind only Steve Christie's 1,011.

Lindell connected on 83.3 percent of his field goal attempts with the Bills
and all but one of 306 extra-point tries. He made 21-of-24 field goal tries
last year after missing the final seven games of the 2011 season because of a
 shoulder injury.

Before joining Buffalo, Lindell spent three seasons with Seattle.

The Bills' kicking duties will now be handled by rookie Dustin Hopkins, a
sixth-round pick in April's draft. The Florida State product has not missed on
his four field goal attempts in the preseason.
