=== Eagles continue to revamp secondary, sign Williams, Phillips ===

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles continued to
revamp their embattled secondary on Thursday, signing former Baltimore
cornerback Cary Williams to a three-year deal, and ex-New York Giants safety
Kenny Phillips to a one-year contract.

Williams started all 16 games for the Super Bowl-champion Ravens in 2012,
recording 67 tackles, four interceptions and 17 passes defended. Originally a
seventh-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2008, Williams, 28, joined the
Ravens in 2009 and earned a starting role in 2011.

Phillips, meanwhile, played five season in North Jersey and proved to be a
playmaker in the secondary, albeit an injury-prone one at times. The
University of Miami product amassed 263 total tackles with eight interceptions
and 26 passes defended with Big Blue. Originally a first-round selection of
the Giants in 2008, Phillips, 26, starred during the team's Super Bowl
championship season in 2011, with a career-high four interceptions and 72
 tackles.
