=== Bills DE Kelsay retires ===
Orchard Park, NY (Sports Network) - Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay
announced his retirement after playing 10 years with the team.
Kelsay informed general manager Buddy Nix of his decision Wednesday.
Kelsay's 2012 season was cut short due to a torn ligament in his neck. He
registered 14 tackles and two sacks while starting four of the nine games he
played last season.
"It is something that has been kind of on our minds for a couple months
really," Kelsay said of his decision. "My wife and I discussed different
options really since the neck injury. Other factors weighed into the overall
decision. I just felt like as much as I kind of went back-and-forth on it, I
believe if you are thinking about retirement that much you are already
retired. I am happy with the decision that we made. I look forward to the next
chapter of my life."
A second-round selection in the 2003 draft out of Nebraska, Kelsay appeared in
147 games for the Bills and had 32 1/2 sacks.
