GAME NOTES: The Illinois-Chicago Flames desperately would like to end a 10- game win streak, but they'll have a tough test on the road as they face the Detroit Titans in Horizon League play at Calihan Hall.

Illinois-Chicago's 10-game losing streak dates back to Dec. 20 before the holiday break, and includes seven conference losses that have set the Flames back to 0-7 in Horizon League play. The Flames are coming off a tough 76-75 loss to Oakland.

Detroit has lost five of its last six games following a three-game win streak. The Titans are only ahead of Illinois-Chicago in the HL standings at 2-5, and are coming off a 62-52 defeat at the hands of Green Bay, the Horizon League leader at 7-0.

Detroit has a pretty solid grasp on the all-time series lead with the Flames, 27-13. The Titans swept the season series last year, including a 98-47 blowout win. The 51-point defeat of the Flames is the largest margin of victory ever in the conference history.

Illinois-Chicago could be feeling a bit robbed after its last loss at Oakland. With 4.4 seconds remaining, the Golden Grizzlies in-bounded the ball to Duke Mondy, who drove the length of the court and hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Oakland past UIC. Jordan Harks tied the game-high with 21 points for UIC, hitting 8-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Kelsey Barlow chipped in 20 points and seven rebounds, while Pat Birt contributed 11 points. The Flames shot 56 percent from the floor in the game.

Barlow leads the team in scoring this season with 15.3 ppg on 40.4 percent shooting. His 5.1 rpg and 85 total assists on the year is a team-high as well. Barlow has been the most all-around player for UIC this season. Marc Brown is second on the team with 12.1 ppg, and is tied with Barlow for the team lead with 22 steals. The Flames are averaging 68.8 ppg this season.

In a 10-point win for Green Bay over Detroit, the Phoenix made 20 more free throws than the Titans, including a 16-7 edge from the line in the second half. Evan Bruinsma led Detroit with 14 points and seven rebounds. Carlton Brundidge chipped in 11 points off the bench for the Titans, who shot 31.5 percent from the floor.

Juwan Howard Jr. still leads Detroit in scoring this season with 17.4 ppg on 34.9 percent shooting. Howard tops the team with 51 total assists on the year, and brings down a solid 5.8 rpg. Bruinsma is the team leader in rebounding with 7.8 rpg, and is second in scoring at 12 ppg. The Titans are averaging 71.5 ppg through their 22 contests played.

Although Illinois-Chicago played well against Oakland, and shot well above 50 percent for the game, the Titans will again be too much for the Flames to handle on the road.
