The Tigers ran out to an 8-3 lead four minutes into the meeting, but it wasn't long before Alabama State turned the tables with a 13-2 scoring run, eventually leading to a 31-30 edge for the Hornets at the break.

JSU shot only 39.3 percent from the floor in the second half, including a disappointing 1-of-10 beyond the arc, but the Tigers saved themselves with 13- of-14 shooting at the free-throw line, en route to the seven-point victory.
