Final Score: Akron 62, Kent State 59

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Zeke Marshall registered 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots to lead the Akron Zips to a 62-59 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes at Quicken Loans Arena to advance to the Mid-American Conference Tournament finals.

Demetrius Treadwell finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds for Akron (25-6) while Nick Harney added 11 points and four assists off the bench.

Randal Holt paced Kent State (20-13) with 19 points and five assists. Chris Evans chipped in nine rebounds before fouling out.

Akron shot 54.5 percent in the opening period and made 4-of-8 from behind the arc. The Zips led 32-29 at halftime despite being outrebounded, 17-12.

Marshall scored seven quick points to open the second half to give Akron some breathing room but Kent State went on a 15-4 run and took a 46-43 lead with 12:24 remaining in the game. After trading baskets for the majority of the period, Akron emerged victorious after two free throws from Brian Walsh gave it a four-point edge with six seconds left.

The Zips will take on Ohio for the MAC Tournament Championship next.

Final Score: Ohio 74, Western Michigan 63

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - D.J. Cooper registered his 23rd career double-double with 21 points and 10 assists to lift the second-seeded Ohio Bobcats to the finals of the MAC Tournament with a 74-63 win over the Western Michigan Broncos at Quicken Loans Arena.

Walter Offutt also had a double-double, scoring 14 points to go along with 11 rebounds for Ohio (24-8). Reggie Keely contributed 12 points.

Nate Hutcheson and Darius Paul netted 16 points apiece for Western Michigan (20-12) while Brandon Pokley and David Brown each scored 10 points.

Ohio broke the game open after an early 8-8 tie and led 41-24 at halftime. The Bobcats made 7-of-9 from behind the arc and shot 63.6 percent from the floor.

Western Michigan went on a run midway through the second half to cut Ohio's lead to 48-46 but the Bobcats responded with consecutive triples by Cooper and Offutt. The Broncos made 4-of-6 from behind the arc in the period despite the loss.

Ohio registered 20 assists while Western Michigan had just nine. The Bobcats will face Akron in the MAC finals.
