Sutton's strike sees Motherwell draw Celtic
Dundee, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Celtic's slight stutter in Scottish Premier League action continued on Saturday as Motherwell's John Sutton scored in second-half stoppage time to see the two sides play to a 3-3 draw at Fir Park.
Sutton handed Motherwell the lead five minutes in, and things continued to go in the club's favor when Kris Commons failed to convert a penalty kick in the 22nd minute.
The hosts managed to double their advantage just before halftime through Zaine Sebastien Francis-Angol, but Anthony Stokes struck shortly after to cut Celtic's deficit in half.
The Hoops went on to take the lead through Georgios Samaras' goal in the 56th minute and Leigh Griffiths' late goal in the 86th, but Sutton spoiled Celtic's win by nabbing an equalizer for Motherwell in the second minute off added time.
Celtic remains in a comfortable position atop the table by improving to 89 points. Motherwell, meanwhile, climbs to 61 points.
Elsewhere in the Scottish top flight, Hearts received a rare victory by getting a 2-0 win over Ross County, Partick Thistle overturned a second-half deficit to get a 2-1 win at Kilmarnock, St. Mirren scored twice inside the opening 15 minutes for a 2-0 defeat of Hibernian and St. Johnstone cruised to a 2-0 victory over Dundee United.
