Puebla rallies to claim first win

Guadalajara, Mexico (Sports Network) - Puebla scored three unanswered goals over the final 45 minutes to secure its first win of the season, a 4-2 triumph at Guadalajara.

After draws in four of its first five games, with one loss, Puebla fell behind in the 10th minute to a goal from Guadalajara's Antonio Palacios.

Jesus Chavez leveled the contest a few minutes later, but Puebla was pegged back by Rafael Marquez Lugo, who scored his third goal of the season in the 38th minute to restore the home side's lead.

Alfredo Moreno then struck just before the halftime whistle to equalize for the visitors, and Puebla pushed on to snatch all three points after an own goal from Kristian Alvarez and a tally from Matias Alustiza seven minutes from time.

Veracruz dropped to second place after being held to a 0-0 draw at home by Queretaro, while Morelia took advantage and moved one point clear at the top by defeating Atlas, 2-0, with second-half goals from Rodrigo Dorantes and Aldo Ramirez.

Oribe Peralta's brace helped Santos to a 3-0 win over Tigres, Cruz Azul held off Atlante, 1-0, despite playing the final 15 minutes with 10 men, Humberto Suazo's 89th-minute goal lifted Monterrey to a 2-1 victory against Tijuana, and 10-man America managed to come away with a 1-0 win at Pachuca as Raul Jimenez scored nine minutes after Rubens Sambueza was issued a red card for the visitors.

Pablo Velazquez scored a hat trick as Toluca hammered Jaguares, 4-0, while UNAM and Leon traded first-half goals in a 1-1 draw.
