Fiorentina facing must-win at Napoli
Naples, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Fiorentina travels to Napoli on Sunday knowing that its hopes of qualifying for the Champions League are dwindling, and anything less than a win could mean the end of those ambitions.
The Viola endured a four-game winless run that severely hampered its chances of finishing in the top three before it rebounded with a 3-1 win over Chievo last weekend.
Manager Vincenzo Montella's team trails Napoli by 10 points for the third and final Champions League place, and a win would cut that deficit to seven points with nine games remaining.
But Napoli is riding a six-match unbeaten streak in league play and has lost just once at home in Serie A this term.
Napoli also has plenty of incentive as it trails second-place Roma by just three points for an automatic berth in next season's Champions League.
Roma has a game in hand on Napoli and could double its advantage on Saturday with three points at struggling Chievo, which has lost five of its last seven contests and sits just one point above the relegation places.
Juventus figures to collect three more points as the club takes on last-place Catania with the Old Lady entering the weekend 14 points clear at the top of the table.
Fifth-place Inter Milan is unbeaten in six matches and hosts mid-table Atalanta, while Parma continues to chase a Europa League spot on the strength of a 16-game unbeaten in league play that will be tested on Sunday by Genoa.
Second-from-the-bottom Sassuolo is three points from safety and travels to Udinese, Bologna has earned two points from its last five games and hosts Cagliari, Torino tangles with Livorno, Hellas Verona invades Sampdoria and Lazio meets AC Milan.
