Boateng makes Bundesliga return with Schalke move
Gelsenkirchen, Germany (Sports Network) - Kevin-Prince Boateng has made a return to the Bundesliga after signing with Schalke on a three-year deal on Friday.
Boateng began his career with Hertha Berlin before signing for Tottenham in 2007. The German-born Ghanaian was loaned to Borussia Dortmund before signing for Portsmouth in 2009 and then AC Milan in 2010.
"The Bundesliga is the best in the world and it's where the best players in the world go," said Boateng at a press conference in Gelsenkirchen. "I've always said that I wanted to play again in Germany."
The news of the transfer comes just two days after Boateng netted a brace in AC Milan's 3-0 defeat of PSV Eindhoven in Champions League qualifying action. The Italian side is reportedly receiving approximately $16 million for the 26- year-old's services.
