Orengo's late brace sees Ajaccio edge Valenciennes

Valenciennes, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Cedric Orengo picked a fine time to produce his first goals of the Ligue 1 season as his late brace at Valenciennes on Saturday granted Ajaccio a dramatic 3-2 win.

After a scoreless opening period, Abdul Waris had handed the home side the lead in the 50th minute, but Benjamin Andre managed to draw Ajaccio level in the 62nd.

Waris doubled Valenciennes' advantage in the 72nd minute, and when it looked as though it would hold up as the winner, Orengo struck with goals coming in the 86th and 90th minutes to see Ajaccio complete the smash-and-grab job.

Ajaccio improves to 18 points but stays in the Ligue 1 cellar, 13 points back of safety.

Valenciennes stays on 28 points to remain in the final relegation spot.

Marseille went for a fourth straight Ligue 1 match without a win as Abdoulaye Doucoure produced the lone goal at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday to give Rennes a shock 1-0 win.

Also on Saturday, Florian Raspentino and Gianni Bruno nabbed the goals in Bastia's 2-0 defeat of Reims, Jussie and Alexy Bosetti exchanged goals in Bordeaux's 1-1 draw with Nice, Koffi Djidji grabbed the winner to see Nantes get a 2-1 win over nine-man Montpellier, and Ben Yedder's goal was canceled out by Clarck Nsikulu's late strike as Toulouse was held to a 1-1 draw by Evian.
