Jelavic secures Hull City switch
Hull, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Hull City boosted its survival hopes by signing striker Nikica Jelavic from Everton for an undisclosed fee.
According to reports, the deal is worth $10.5 million with Hull set to hand over another $1.5 million if the club avoids relegation this season.
Jelavic joined Everton from Rangers in January 2012 and went on to score 11 goals in 16 games before the end of last season.
But with the Toffees signing striker Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea over the summer, the 28-year-old Jelavic has slipped down the pecking order and has made just nine league appearances this term.
The Croatia international joins the Tigers on a three-and-a-half-year deal and he is hoping that a change in scenery will help him to prepare for this summer's World Cup.
Hull currently sits in 10th place in the Premier League, five points clear of the relegation places.
