Castellani's hat trick puts Godoy Cruz top
Mendoza, Argentina (SportsNetwork.com) - Gonzalo Castellani netted a hat trick at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas on Monday to put Godoy Cruz atop Argentina's first division with a 3-0 defeat of Rosario Central.
The match was scoreless until the 43rd minute when Castellani broke through for the opener.
He continued his fine form after the interval by scoring within the first five minutes of the restart.
Godoy Cruz was in cruise control for the remainder of the match, but that did not prevent Castellani from adding a third as his 89th-minute strike solidified the win and brought the club, on nine points through four games, to first place on goal difference.
Also on Monday, Tigre was held to a 0-0 home draw by Argentinos Juniors while Belgrano overturned a two-goal deficit to get a point from a 2-2 draw at Gimnasia La Plata.

Newell's had four different players get on the scoresheet as Milton Casco, Fabian Munoz, Victor Figueroa and Maxi Rodriguez provided the goals, while a penalty from Diego Daniel Vera was the only consolation for Atletico Rafaela.
Estudiantes failed to maintain its first-place position after Emmanuel Gigliotti's first-half strike gave Boca Juniors a 1-0 win while San Lorenzo improved to nine points with Ignacio Piatti giving the club a 1-0 defeat of Quilmes.
Also on Sunday, Colon cruised to a 3-1 victory over River Plate behind a brace from Gabriel Graciani.
